From the time we join the service until we retire, decisions that influence our ability to perform our duties - including ensuring our safe return to our families and the workers' compensation benefits that we will receive for occupational-related injuries - are predominantly made by elected officials at the state level. Therefore, we must actively participate in the political process whenever public safety and fire fighter welfare are up for discussion. We must educate Minnesota voters and the elected officials representing them about vital public safety issues concerning our citizens and Minnesota's emergency responders.
The Minnesota Professional Fire Fighters Association acknowledges that our members have varying political perspectives on various issues. However, the Minnesota Professional Fire Fighters PAC's sole focus lies on issues that bolster public safety and directly affect our members' ability to perform their duties. The Minnesota Professional Fire Fighters PAC aids and contributes to candidates who stand with us, irrespective of party affiliation. No funds from the Minnesota Professional Fire Fighters PAC are directed to any national political organizations - fire-related or otherwise. Our support is solely dedicated to assisting and electing candidates who represent some portion of the state of Minnesota or on ballot issues that in some way affect your safety and our members! We stand by the principle: "Backing Those Who Back Us!"
